What I have Always Wanted to Say

What I have always wanted to say is
The world flies by your window
And you're too afraid to lookout
Too afraid to say hello accusing others of not socializing with you
But I have to say,
Why don't you lookout
Why don't you breathe
Why don't feel the fresh air
 Why don't you say hello?
Is it because we want to know you
And I apply my voice to this air
So for all those stuck in there shell
Why are you afraid?

I look at you and ask through a haze,
What is in there, is it something we haven't seen?
We want to know, why you stay quiet
I want to know you
But what I have always wanted to say is
I want to be your friend
So I charge myself
How do I do that
How do I know you
How do you speak before me
What food draws you out
Rather that repels you?
Are my writings enough
Or do you need more
For if I would know you
I would wait
I would wait for times past
 Hours gone and days ended,
I would wait just outside the window
For I is open to sounds I make, but screened shut
And your door is locked
But you could let me in
You could come to understand me
And I, you
I would be the rock
You could rest on
Or the river you drink from
I could turn into the hours you dream of
Or the house you see of
I could be,
      Yours to be
You never knew me
And I never knew you
But we could be
 Anything, but retained together
Through the window
The window of which
You look out to rolling hills
And open ocean
And you could open the door
And let me see the view
With you

Although we might both be light
Together like a lamp
We could heavily illuminate everything
Us together is as strong as a braid of ropes
And us apart is as weak as a rose
For what I have always wanted to say is
I know not what you stand for
But what you're made out of
Not who you are
But what you are
We know each other
But we cannot see what lies beyond the outside
We must only start to know
What is dark, is about to be light
If you know that
What I want to say is
I want to be with you,
                                             I love you

Who I am

Hey, I am Ben’s Glasses and I am writing to you from his face right here in the Old North State.  I might be battered, beaten, and broken, but do I know a lot about him. Being the poet he is since seventh grade. I have seen him write so much that I cannot believe that his hands have not fallen off yet. Sadly though he lost his note book on a bus two years ago, and has slowed in writing since then. He currently is a Riverside High School in Durham and has decided to take a creative writing course there. This, he says, will give him an opportunity to write more poetry and short stories. His writing style for poetry is loosely based on Edgar Allen Poe, whose writings he likes to read. What he finds most interesting about Poe is that he has an almost insane obsession with cats. Ben thinks that he will go onto college; his preferred college is Georgia Tech. He believes more specifically that he will becomes an astronautical engineer. He feels that he loves engineering, and thinks he can do it for his whole life.  He has some great Ideas on space flight and would love to work at SpaceX. The reason he wants to work at SpaceX is he thinks that space is the next big private business opportunity. He knows though that poetry will always be a part of him. He knows this because he knows that the writer in him will always see the way the world shuts its eyes to, so long as they do not bear the face of despair. He believes writers have a keener sense of understanding others more than the rest of the world. All writers share this trait, though most don't know or understand it. In his opinion the world has become dull in the eyes of man, and dream has become reality, because children dream nightmares of fathers dying on a battlefield and mothers see graves of headstones made of granite, fill with the names of husbands and sons, and like the world the granite is pink, gray ran over by blood. Nothing he has experienced has lasted forever, so make the most of all your life. If you choose not to most of what you do will not mean anything, because people are affected heavily by determination, perseverance and a sense of purpose. This is most of his advice, sometimes he can be wise. The only country he has been too other than the states is Canada. All of the states he has been to except for the Old North State are South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, New York, Maine, Massachusetts, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Kentucky. That is Twenty-Four states! He considers himself a traveler of the states. If he could go anywhere he would go to Atlantis. Why, because the he would be the only one to know where it is. If he couldn't go there he would go to the Shire, for the soul purpose of meeting Bilbo Baggins. If he couldn't go either place he would go to the moon.
